Codorus - On Wednesday, February 24, 2021, Richard M. Krebs, 87, of
Codorus passed away peacefully with his family by his side. He was the
loving husband of Linda L. (Boose) Krebs.
Richard was born on
March 12, 1933 in Glenville, York County, to the late Maurice and Gladys
(Fishel) Krebs. He was a 1950 graduate of Codorus Township High School,
then served his country in the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict
Era. Richard was the former Proprietor of Pete's Place in Jefferson. He
was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Jefferson, Spring Grove VFW
Life Member, Hanover Moose Club Life Member, Hanover American Legion,
Jefferson Sportsmen Club Charter Member, Jefferson Rifle Club. He was a
former Trustee and Assistant Chief of the Jefferson Volunteer Fire
Department, Entertainment Committee Chairman of the Jefferson Carnival,
member of Hidden Pines Hunting Club, Jefferson Brothers of the Brush,
Jefferson Baseball Association, the NRA, Spring Grove Historical
Preservation Society, Western York County Democratic Club, and was a 52
year attendee of the Indianapolis 500.
He is survived by his
wife, Linda; two children, Scott R. Krebs and wife Pamela, and Eric P.
Krebs and wife Shelly; and a son-in-law, John Thompson; 7 grandchildren,
Jared Krebs and wife Carrie, Megan Slothour and husband Jason, Sarah
Shepke and husband David, Emily and Randy Thompson, and Kaila and Lexie;
5 great-grandchildren, Cooper, Harper, Kylie, Leah and Christian; 2
brothers, Robert and wife Sharon Krebs and Nevin Krebs; He is also
survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Richard was preceded in death
by his parents; one daughter, Rebecca L. Thompson; and one sister,
Lorraine Tyson and husband, Charles; and sister-in-law, Barbara Krebs.
